• With outer-impeller drive, the impeller inside the chamber serves as the turbine, while the impeller connected to the housing serves as the pump impeller. A flexible coupling is provided on the motor side, and the weight of the coupling is mainly supported by the reducer shaft.
• Equipped with a rear auxiliary chamber, this type is of the dynamic-pressure fluid-drainage type. It offers strong instantaneous overload protection, fast response, and a relatively low overload factor, effectively limiting the starting torque.
• The YOXn series is a dedicated supporting product for TD type belt conveyors.
• When the reducer shaft is considerably smaller in diameter than the motor shaft, this type is not recommended. Alternatively, the input and output can be reversed to prevent reducer shaft breakage. Reversal may cause minor changes in basic performance, but will not affect normal operation.
• For couplings driven by two-speed or variable-speed motors, selection shall be based primarily on the parameters of the low-speed stage.
• The TVA series couplings are introduced under license from Voith (Germany) and feature elastic block connections. The YOX series couplings are equipped with plum-shaped elastic elements (spider couplings).

 Functions and Applications of Torque-Limiting Fluid Coupling

Functions: Provides light-load start-up, overload protection, impact dampening, torsional vibration isolation, load equalization for multi-drive systems, flexible braking, and energy efficiency.

1. The motor starts under near-no-load conditions, reducing starting time and starting current, and minimizing impact on the power grid.
2. It allows starting with the motor's peak torque, thereby enhancing the motor's starting capability and avoiding the "over-sized motor for under-sized load" phenomenon. Compared with rigid drives, it can reduce the motor frame size by at least one grade.

7. In multi-motor drive systems, it enables sequential start-up of the motors, balanced load sharing, and synchronized operation.
8. It provides wear-free power transmission, with no direct mechanical friction except for bearings and oil seals.
9. It is easy to operate, maintain, and service, with low maintenance costs and a long service life.
10. It features low initial investment and high cost-effectiveness, with energy-saving rates reaching 8–15%.
