Structural Features:

  •  Its structural feature is that a rigid coupling is provided at the input end and an elastic coupling at the output end. It is essentially an outer-impeller-driven brake-wheel type coupling with the brake wheel removed.
  • The greatest advantage of the split-type coupling lies in its convenient installation and removal. The coupling body can be detached from the input and output half-couplings. The two end couplings can then be mounted onto the motor shaft and the reducer shaft respectively using the heating method. Finally, the coupling body is assembled onto the rigid coupling at the input end and engaged with the output coupling via the elastic element. This simplifies the installation and removal process and ensures that the coupling is not damaged during assembly and disassembly.

Selection Notes:

  • Since the split-type coupling is equipped with an elastic coupling at the output end, its axial length is increased. Therefore, the connection dimensions of the YOX type are not applicable; however, the connection dimensions of the YOXIIZtype can be used.

Installation and Removal Procedure and Precautions:

  • Remove the input-end rigid coupling from the coupling body;
  • Remove the output-end coupling from the coupling body;
  • Mount the input-end rigid coupling onto the motor shaft using the heating method;
  • Mount the output half-coupling onto the reducer shaft using the heating method;
  • Install the coupling body onto the rigid coupling already mounted on the motor shaft, ensuring accurate positioning;
  • Move the motor with the coupling to engage it with the output half-coupling via the elastic element;
  • Align the motor and the reducer properly;
  • For disassembly, follow the above steps in reverse order.

Precautions:

  • When installing the coupling body, proper alignment must be ensured. The bolts shall be tightened symmetrically to prevent the coupling from being mounted skewed.
  • The mounting positions of the motor and the reducer must be properly aligned to ensure concentricity of their rotational centers.
  • During installation and removal, care must be taken not to damage the wire thread inserts in the bolt holes.
