The Omega-shaped Tyre Coupling features a core component which is an integrally molded ring-shaped rubber elastomer with a cross-sectional profile shaped like the letter Ω. It is directly connected to the metal flanges (half-couplings) at both ends via bolts. The rubber body undergoes shear, compression, and tensile deformation during torque transmission, thereby achieving multiple functions.
Two Identical Metal Flanges: Typically made of cast steel or aluminum alloy, featuring bolt holes.
1.Basic Structure
One Ω-Shaped Rubber Elastomer: Usually made of materials like natural rubber, polyurethane, or neoprene, offering high strength and elasticity.
Bolts and Nuts: Used to clamp the rubber body between the two flanges. Reamed Fit Bolts are sometimes used to ensure alignment accuracy.

2. Key Characteristics
Exceptional Flexibility and Compensation Capacity
Excellent Torsional Elasticity: Effectively absorbs and isolates strong torsional vibrations and shock loads, protecting both the driving end (e.g., motor) and driven equipment
Large Misalignment Compensation: Allows for very large angular, radial, and axial misalignment compensation, placing minimal demands on installation alignment. Can adapt to deformation caused by foundation settlement, thermal expansion, etc
No Lubrication Required, Simple Maintenance
Contains no friction parts with relative sliding, requires no lubrication, and is classified as a maintenance-free coupling
Electrical Insulation and Damping
The rubber body provides electrical insulation, preventing shaft current corrosion. Simultaneously, the internal friction of the rubber offers superior damping and vibration absorption characteristics
Simple Structure, Easy Installation
Few components, simple assembly, usually requiring no special tools
3.Typical application areas
Omega couplings are widely used in the following industries and equipment due to their excellent performance
Pump industry: centrifugal pumps, screw pumps, reciprocating pumps, etc
Fan: various industrial fans, induced draft fans, and blowers
Compressor: screw type, centrifugal compressor
Power generation industry: steam turbines, generators, boiler feedwater pumps
Shipbuilding industry: Ship propulsion systems
